TMAP: Meeting with Atty. Elenita Quimosing on the IRR on Income

TMAP Pres. Atty. Gallardo and his group joined the writers of the IRR on Income, led by Atty. Elenita Quimosing, in their meeting to finalize the IRR for submission to the DOF the following day. Atty. Gallardo and his group were very graciously accommodated as they discussed their comments on the IRR. This was the strategy that Atty. Gallardo's group took because they could not possibly discuss their inputs intelligently with the writers of the IRR on Income during the public forum/hearing the BIR scheduled earlier on due to the number of attendees at that time and because it is likely that they will not be getting their full attention. The IRR on Income has been released by the BIR yesterday afternoon (January 16, 2018).

Atty. Gallardo and his group dropped by the office of the Deputy Commissioner for the Operations  Group Atty. Arnel Guballa, who was newly appointed then. He shared with Atty. Gallardo's group the general directions of the operations group for this year, which is a balance between heightened collection efforts  and efficient service to the taxpayers. Atty. Guballa accepted in principle TMAP's invitation to be their special guest for their General Membership Meeting (GMM) for the month of March. He was requested to share the programs they will be adopting for audit and some reminders for the nearing tax filing season.

TMAP Pres. Atty. Gallardo and his group made their courtesy visit to the office of the Deputy Commissioner for Information Systems Group Atty. Lanee Cui-David. She informed us of the BIR forms that are to be revised or to be put in place in relation to the amendments brought about by package 1. We shared with her the sentiments of most taxpayers that these forms should be simple to fill up and only vital information should be required.

After the planning session of the Board of Directors for TMAPs direction and action plans for 2018 last January 5, TMAP Pres. Atty. Gallardo and some of the TMAP members paid a courtesy visit to the CIR Caesar Dulay last January 9 to formally invite him as their inducting officer in their turn-over ceremonies. It has been  8 or 10 years since TMAP had the Commissioner of Internal Revenue as their inducting officer.
